About Us

The Need

We know that some children need extra academic support in the summer. Research shows that children lose one third of what they have learnt during the summer holiday.

This is more pronounced with children from low income families. Also, during term time, children and young people learn things based on the national curriculum and there’s little time to have fun or to work at the pace that best meets their needs. In September teachers spend up to 6 weeks revisiting topics from the previous term in order to get children back up to speed on their learning lost during the holidays. Our aim through our summer programme of activities is to help reduce the attainment gap for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our approach is holistic, and allows children to have fun whilst learning, make new friends and work at a pace that suits their style of learning.

The Solution

Knowledge and practice is what is needed to redefine the summer learning experience for children. We offer free coaching to children in need of additional academic support. We want to:

Our free summer sessions are led by Teaching Fellows who are supervised by fully qualified, experienced and DBS checked Teaching Coaches. The team are passionate about engaging children in projects based on their own questions and ideas.

Creative and fun activities are at the heart of our teaching. Good value is our aim, hence we expect nothing less than excellence from our students and teachers.
